MEETING ROOMS

Each of our meeting rooms has its own distinctive character and atmosphere. All have good natural light and each room offers a flexible layout to suit your requirements. They range from cozy lounges to larger more spacious halls.

Our main hall accommodates up to 350 people and has its own sound system and cry room. 7 indoor meeting rooms or for large groups there are 10 break-away training areas available including the outdoor facilities. Write ‘n Wipe boards, screens, OHP’s, Data Projectors and DVD Players can be booked for use prior to arrival.

 

Prayer Garden

& Tea garden

Strolling through our 5 acre indigenous prayer garden provides one with a sense of peace and tranquility in the beauty of God’s creation. There are numerous hidden enclaves with benches to sit on, perfect for some time alone with God. The South Coast bird-life is in abundance and there are 5 species of residential buck that can be spotted if you are stealthy enough. Bush buck abound and if you are very lucky you may see red duiker, reedbuck, grey duiker or even the very shy steenbok. There are over 200 indigenous trees and plants to enjoy. This is an ideal place to spend time with our Lord either as an individual or as a group using the central picnic garden. The prayer garden is free for public use and just requires a call to reception to let us know you will be coming.

Near the dining room is a beautiful tea garden at the heart of Skogheim. It is the perfect place to relax, fellowship and watch all that goes on during camp.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

For those who enjoy the outdoors and feel the need to work off our delicious meals there are a number of outdoor activities available. Our stunning 18m pool & baby pool combined with our braai area are very popular for lunch and afternoon events. We have two beach volleyball courts and a one of a kind snookball court where old and young can play pool with custom designed soccer balls. We have a beach soccer court that can also be used for other energetic activities such as chair-ball. Our unique 18 ‘tree’ Frisbee golf course is ideal for some healthy family competition or a relaxing stroll around the property. There are marked walking trails of various lengths and degrees of difficulty and our 2km long mountain bike trail (feels like 5km) is available for those with their own bikes. Other facilities include a trampoline, a kiddies jungle gym for under 12’s, a bonfire area and a selection of sports equipment available for hire.

PROGRAMMED ACTIVITiES

We offer facilitated outdoor adventure activities to compliment and enhance any camp theme or Bible teaching objective you have. These include a low-ropes obstacle course, fixed element team-building obstacles and our unique ‘Seek and You will Find’ orienteering race.

We also partner with a number of organisations who can offer you full outdoor programming and themed bible studies for part or all of your stay at Skogheim:

  • Impilo Neqiniso - for school camps, team building and custom leadership programming

  • Scripture Union South Coast - for Bible based object lessons and activities

INDOOR ACTIVITIES

Skogheim has an extensive WIFI network that covers all the meeting and communal areas as well as most of the rooms. Each guest receives 100mb per device per day free of charge. Extra WIFI data can be purchased from reception. For those rainy days there is a 9-hole indoor mini putt course and a number of table-tennis areas. There are a wide variety of puzzles and board games available for your use. Our Ruth Lounge and library, for is ideal for a quiet read or relaxing chat with friends. Here we have a television and DVD player as well as a number of Christian movies and watchable sermons. We also have a vending machine in the dining room that is available 24/7 where you can buy soft drinks, snacks and sweets.

EXCURSIONS

Nearby attractions for excursions include the Oribi Gorge, Lake Eland Game Reserve, Pure Venom Reptile Park and a number of beautiful blue-flag beaches where we can provide a beach lunch or take away refreshments for you to enjoy. (visit https://www.visitkznsouthcoast.co.za for more options)
