OUr Commitment

Skogheim Christian Trust & Skogheim Christian Conference Centre is committed to ensuring that all staff, guests and visitors are safe at all times and that all current Covid-19 regulations and expectations are properly upheld. It is important to acknowledge that these regulations are constantly changing as lock down levels and even amendments within these levels change. Skogheim management is committed to following numerous channels and sources both within our industry and related industries in order to make sure we are keeping up with any changes made.

Staff training

All Skogheim staff without exception are trained to adapt and adhere to the new Covid-19 related protocols and procedures to ensure that all health and safety, hygiene and social distancing is adhered to. If staff refuse to adhere to protocols and continually put themselves and others at risk, disciplinary procedures will be implemented. Re-training will occur as government gazetted updates occur.

guest screening

We have a dual screening approach and require the camp organiser and attendees to follow this protocol.

Pre-arrival screening – The organiser is sent a template to use to screen his/her attendees before they depart for Skogheim. We believe it imperative that every attendee assess themselves, taking every precaution, to keep others safe.

Arrival Screening – On arrival every camp attendee will undergo a compulsory screening. If a guest fails the screening test they will be placed in isolation (Anne’s Place flatlet) and the NCID Covid-19 emergency hotline to be called. Further action will then be advised according to updated government protocols. If they have their own transport they will be asked to leave the premises. If the group arrives in a bus together. The guest may stay in isolation at Skogheim until they can organise transport home.

conference programme

As per legislation, masks are expected to be worn by guests without exception. Social distancing protocols and expectations are communicated at the first communal gathering by the Skogheim manager on duty. These are again re-iterated during meal times. Camp organisers or designated ushers are expected to assist with maintaining protocols within their group. Skogheim managers will communicate with the organiser if they are not happy with the adherence to stipulated protocols. Guests are reminded of Covid-19 symptoms and signs throughout the programme. If any guests feel that they display any symptoms they are immediately re-screened.

No activities that incorporate close contact will be allowed. This is subject to lock down levels. Impilo Neqiniso team building programmes have been redesigned to not include activities where physical touch is required.

sanitising stations

It is imperative that guests keep sanitising throughout their stay with us and with this in mind we have placed alcohol based sanitising stations at the entrance to every meeting hall, accommodation block and dining hall. We will also provide mobile sanitising bottles to group organisers where needed. Staff sanitising stations have also been installed at staff usage areas to ensure your safety.

hygiene & cleaning

Skogheim has always taken pride in our cleaning standards and we continue to strive to keep all areas as hygienic as possible. Our housekeeping and kitchen staff are trained to use specific, applicable chemicals and equipment to prevent cross contamination.

Rooms are thoroughly cleaned with appropriate chemicals before the arrival of all guests.

The dining area and public areas are cleaned after each service with relevant disinfecting chemicals and with adherence to established protocols.

Staff hygiene is reiterated to ensure hand washing and sanitising is constantly done throughout the day.
